The 509HD Systems are the result of an important technical evolution - the perfect synthesis between an innovative “bridge architecture” and Manfrotto’s cutting edge engineering: Bridging Technology - an exclusive Manfrotto patent. Thanks to the 509HD’s bridge design, the PAN friction control is intuitive and easy to set, but also protected against knocks. Movement around the PAN and TILT axes is smoothed by ball-bearing units which remove all unwanted vibration, no matter what the operating temperature. Friction control combines with a step counterbalance system (covering the full weight range of video equipment) to allow the 509HD to be fine-tuned with extreme precision for the exact in-shot movements you need. The 509HD’s FDS (Fluid Drag System) is variable and directly controls action and resistance on both axes; the ergonomics of the controls have been noticeably improved to make use of the FDS even easier. All of this guarantees ultimate control and excellent video camera support, no matter what the situation, the shooting style, or the equipment setup. The load capacity has also been improved: the 509HD supports kit up to 13kg (28,8lb) at 55mm c.o.g and two 3/8” threads on the top plate allow accessories, such as monitors and arms, to be fitted straight to the head, thus eliminating the need for extra clamps, saving set-up time and freeing the video camera’s hot shoe for other components.

作為Imagine More品牌企劃的壓軸活動，Manfrotto Interactive Photo Lab互動攝影館將於全球共七個城市作世界巡迴展，香港站活動於11月4至6日一連三天假尖沙咀iSQUARE 3樓iFUNCTION舉行。

一連三天舉行的Manfrotto互動攝影館世界巡迴展香港站，會場設置三個主題攝影室，由駐場攝影師為參加者免費進行拍攝，讓參加者一嚐當專業模特兒的滋味。Manfrotto亦邀得四位城中著名攝影導師，於星期六、日舉行Manfrotto School of Excellence攝影教室。Manfrotto更聯同DC Fever同場舉辦「Manfrotto攝影石膏手定力大比拼」，挑戰參加者進行長距拍攝的定力。

1. How did you shoot: A brief story of a shot explained in a narrative and informal way, targeted to Social Recorders, Hobbyists and Amateurs.

2.Tips: An image with a brief text targeted to Social Recorders and Hobbyists that explain in an entertaining and informal way a list of tips for a specific topic, with image to support

3. Tutorials: A piece describing a technique or a situation which according to the topic should be more or less technical. It should be narrative, fast pacing, with some tech talk. Use videos and pictures to support your text.

4. Reviews: A handy and informal review of any piece of equipment with pictures and a few charts.

5. Experience: It’s an emotional description of a travel, a shooting day or session, or of a single photograph. The tone of the communication should be narrative and informal, not much tech involved. Depending on the topic, it could be targeted from people who are just experiencing the shooting world to professional photographers.

All these contents have been planned with the support of the 2011 communication activities which will follow the school during all the MSoX educational plan.

The selected people will provide once a month from March until end of 2011 a content in one of the above categories.

In exchange of the contribution, Manfrotto School of Xcellence will provide as a gift a products’ kit. All contributors will be listed in the Tutors & Contributors space of the MSoX Website.

Applicants will be notified of the status of their contribution by e-mail. The notifications will be sent by Friday, 28th February

Imagine winning a dream all expenses holiday to Venice, the city of bridges, with a top film festival thrown in for good measure!

Well that’s the reality for the three lucky winners of the Manfrotto 504HD CrossOver Contest.

The contest challenged people to submit a short film online to the Gallery page on the www.manfrottocrossover.com website with bridges providing the source of inspiration.

The CrossOver Video Contest’s three winners were picked based on these categories: highest number of votes; special jury selection and random drawing.

Running just over 3 months the contest certainly inspired some wonderful short films but ultimately there could be only three winners:

All three films were evidently inspired by the crossing over theme with Tylor Norwood’s fast paced, lively short interlacing shots of bridges, arches, piers, flyovers and other aquatic links with close-ups of his own Manfrotto ‘bridge’. A perfect CrossOver combination!

This was certainly a contest that required creativity and passion but the prize was more than a match for the effort required!

The three winners will now spend three days surrounded by the soft colours of fall in Italy in this once-in-a-lifetime trip to Venice and its 67th International Film Festival. And while there they will also get to meet award-winning film makers and watch one of 2010’s critically acclaimed movies!

The slightly quirky approach to an award ceremony was intended as the magazine's way of 'offering recognition and encouragement to manufacturers responding to our needs with the kind of innovative photographic equipment that allows and encourages us to take better images.'
